VITAS!

Vitas, from Russia, likes singing really high-octaves! Why do the instrumentalists cover themselves with black cloths??

I don’t know.
Why is the sky blue?
Why is the Sun so warm and glowy?
Why do frogs grant you wishes when you kiss them?
I don’t know.

Some questions, my friend, are meant to go unanswered.

Vitas (born February 19, 1981), is a Latvian-born Russian pop singer, composer, actor and fashion designer. He is most commonly known by his first name, Vitas, or Витас in Russian. Much of his music is straightforward pop influenced by techno, and occasionally classical opera.

He has received much of his fame through Russian television and is planning to sign to entertainment labels in countries such as China, Korea, and Japan in order to expand to those markets. Vitas’ 2005 video “Opera#2″ has been forwarded frequently via the Internet, which accounts for much of his worldwide recognition. References of his magical voice may be described best by reading through this:

Brent introduced me to him and ever since I have had a nightmares–the most recent whilst sleeping in a van on tour in the early morning (3:30am) outside of Detroit. I know…its like it’s happening to everyone. Don’t feel weird…we all dream about Russian Opera singers now and again*. Remember when they discussed that in Health class? I think my parents had to sign a permission slip to watch a video about it.

In unrelated news I am now 28 years old. I am still able to rock the party, and more importantly bring the ruckus. Here’s to aging gracefully!

*Too far? Yea maybe. But I’m secure enough in my heterosexuality to know I am not ghey!
